CARE FOR MATERIALS

Tips for sustainable use

Proper care of materials extends the lifespan of textile products and helps them remain beautiful for longer. Whether it's a bag made from recycled materials, a handcrafted garment, or a home textile, these care instructions will help you maintain your items.

Check out the material-specific care guidelines below!

TEXTILES AND CLOTHING

Recycled textiles and natural materials like cotton, linen, and wool all require special care to maintain their original beauty.

  • 🧼 Washing Instructions: We recommend handwashing or using a gentle machine wash at low temperatures (30°C). Avoid harsh detergents and bleach. Opt for environmentally friendly detergents whenever possible.
  • 💧 Drying: Avoid using a tumble dryer, as it may shrink or wear out the materials. If possible, dry textiles flat or hang the item freely on a hanger in a shaded area.

  • 👚 Ironing: Iron at a low temperature. For wool and other delicate fibers, use a damp cloth as a barrier while ironing.

LEATHER AND FAUX LEATHER

Leather products, such as bags and accessories, can remain beautiful with proper care.

  • 🧼 Cleaning Instructions: Wipe leather surfaces with a soft, damp cloth, avoiding excessive water. If needed, use a mild soap, such as Marseille soap.
  • 🧥 Conditioning: Regularly apply a leather conditioner to keep the material supple and attractive.

  • 🧺 Storage: Store leather items in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Stuff bags or shoes with paper to help them retain their shape.

COTTON AND LINEN

Products made from cotton and linen are natural and breathable, but a few key considerations are important for their care.

  • 🧼 Washing Instructions: Machine wash at low temperatures (30°C). Avoid excessive friction, as it can wear down the fibers of the fabric.
  • 💧 Drying: Avoid tumble drying—cotton and linen dry best outdoors in the shade, preserving their softness and shape. If drying indoors, hang the items in a well-ventilated area on a clothes hanger.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

Products made from recycled materials require care to maintain their sustainable life cycle. These materials can range from textiles to plastic and metal, so care instructions depend on the specific material.

  • 👗 Textiles: Treat recycled textiles as you would new ones, but take extra care during washing and storage to prevent excessive wear.
  • 👜 Other Materials: Plastic and metal can be cleaned with mild soapy water and dried thoroughly. Avoid chemical cleaners, as they may damage the materials.

GENERAL TIPS
  • 🧺 Storage: Store products in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • 🧵 Repairs: If products begin to show wear, many recycled materials and textiles can be repaired. Small sewing fixes and early maintenance can significantly extend the product’s lifespan.

  • â›” Avoid: Overwashing. Often, simple airing out is enough.

Proper care not only preserves the appearance of the products but also honors the craftsmanship and the environment.
